Hop
→ Rethinking urban mobility

Introducing Hop: a new form of mobility designed to ease overcrowding on city streets. With the same footprint as a bicycle, Hop can transport up to four passengers, offering a fresh approach to public transport. This multi-person scooter platform travels on set routes within city cycle lanes, allowing passengers to step on and off at designated stops while moving at the same speed as cyclists – sidestepping the congestion and dangers of vehicle lanes.

Hop reimagines urban travel with a standing-only platform, a concept familiar to commuters on buses and trains but newly applied to a multi-person vehicle. Ideal for short urban journeys, the standing design maximises efficiency within the compact footprint. Powered by advanced electric scooter technology and autonomous driving, Hop eliminates the need for a bulky driver’s area, creating a streamlined, user-focused vehicle.

As cities grapple with overcrowded public transport and last-mile connectivity, bicycles and scooters have become increasingly popular. Hop merges the safety and convenience of bus travel with the efficiency of cycle lanes, providing a versatile and accessible solution for urban mobility.

Constructed on the principles of a road bike, Hop’s tubular frame is both robust and cost-effective, fitting seamlessly into the urban landscape. The frame’s tubular bars offer multiple grip points at various heights, accommodating riders of all sizes, with a perch bench available for rear passengers.

Hop’s design addresses city congestion head-on, being a third the width of a traditional four-person car and matching a single-person bicycle’s dimensions. Standing passengers utilise half the space of seated ones, making Hop an efficient use of urban transit space.

Operating autonomously along predefined city routes, Hop navigates cycle lanes in a continuous loop, seamlessly connecting riders from point A to B. The accompanying app guides users on the best routes with a QR code scan-to-enter feature for quick and easy access.

Hop maximises space with intelligent storage solutions: a rear compartment for small luggage and a front basket with an attached hook for larger bags. This thoughtful design ensures passengers can travel comfortably without compromising space, convenience, or the climate.
